  • Pumpkin seeds- contain antioxidants, copper, zinc, magnesium and iron

Also, reduce consumption of refined carbohydrates, sugar and processed foods; these increase blood sugar levels causing brain fatigue and reduced mental clarity.

Prioritize sleep 

Sleep is critical for your physical well-being, and it’s also required for improved mental performance. While you sleep, the brain processes all the information obtained during the day while consolidating memories. 

Lack of adequate sleep directly affects your creativity, problem-solving skills and productivity. You can avoid such by making sleep a top priority. Ensure you have at least seven to eight hours of quality uninterrupted bedtime daily.

Drink enough water during the day.

Water accounts for 75% of the brain. A slight reduction in hydration levels will negatively impact your energy, mood and mental clarity. However, when sufficiently hydrated, blood flows quickly through the brain and functions better.

Doctors advise taking at least eight glasses of water daily (equal to about half a gallon). However, depending on your exercise routine, diet, health status and climate, you may need to take more or less.

For example, if your diet contains plenty of hydrating foods like watermelon and cucumbers, you can drink fewer glasses. Whereas if you work out a lot and live in a warmer climate, you will need more water.
